What Is Beauty?
What Is Beauty?
Beauty is often defined as a subjective quality of things which makes these things pleasurable to see. These objects come in many forms such as art, nature and humans. Beauty, along with beauty, is perhaps the most important topic of aesthetic theory, one of the most important branches of science. There are many theories and arguments concerning beauty across all cultures and societies.
According to some philosophers beauty may be defined as the proportion between the outer and inner beauty, and others believe that beauty is nothing other than the sum of the former and the latter. Some may say beauty consists of outward appearances, while others say that beauty is more to do with the inner beauty of a person. Some may say that beauty is only subjective and there is no objective beauty. However, philosophers and aestheticians disagree about what beauty actually is. For example, some may say that beauty consists of the harmony or orderliness of objects while others think that beauty is something that we see in nature, as when a tree falls down and leaves a beautiful brown stain on the earth, or when a bird flies away without landing on the ground.
The concept of beauty has been used to explain why some people have more beautiful skin than others. Thus, an apple may be said to have greater or more beautiful skin because of its more beautiful colors and outer appearance. Others may say that the reason a certain person is beautiful is because of his unique personality. Thus, beauty is a very subjective concept.
