One popular example of this type of connection is the usage of a serial cable to connect a personal computer to a personal gaming console. In this case, the computer is controlled via the serial port and the player utilizes the serial cord to operate the game console. A few other popular examples of video games that make use of serial ports to communicate with game consoles include card games and word games. In addition, some video games utilize infrared technology to connect players to a digital display screen within the video game system.
