Basically, Poker is a card game where you try to make the best hand possible by betting into the pot. If you’re lucky enough to get a good hand, you win the pot. On the other hand, if you have a bad hand, you’re left with nothing.

The basic premise of poker is to place bets in the middle of the pot in a clockwise order, and to try to make the best possible hand. In some versions, there are rules requiring a player to put in an ante before the cards are dealt. This ante is generally a small bet, usually a dollar or $5. Depending on the game, the ante may be the only bet you’ll ever have to make.

There are many different ways to win in poker. The game is played with a standard 52-card deck. In some games, you might be given extra cards, called jokers.
