Are Video Games Sports?

A game is anything that people do just for fun. So if you’re into any type of competitive sports, it’s different from working. Most sports are games, and thus there are plenty of professional sports to choose from. In these instances, there’s cash to be made.

There are other types of games with plenty of equipment involved. Some of these include computer games, television games, video games, board games and even “word games”. Board games are a good example of a video games sports since they involve active participation, as well as simple moves and turns.

Chris Crawford, who is known as the “father of board games”, made an interesting statement regarding how much players may actually benefit from playing video games. He believes that gamers should be compensated for their time, regardless of whether they are engaged in a hardcore game or not. The issue at hand is whether or not this compensates the players fairly. His belief states that players may have more enjoyment if they are compensated in ways that will allow them to be more productive members of society. He has created a website to support this cause, and has invited gamers to donate towards his fundraiser, entitled ” Athletes Anonymous: Give Back”.
