The Basics of Poker

Poker is a gambling game played by a group of people around a circular table. The players receive five cards, and the player with the best hand wins the pot. In some variant games, there are “wild cards,” which are not ranked according to suit. These cards can be discarded.

The cards are then shuffled. After a few rounds of shuffled cards, each player is dealt another card. The last player to receive a card is the initial dealer.
