Interesting Facts About Games
A game is typically a structured type of playing, typically undertaken for fun or entertainment, and at times used as an instructional tool. Games are very different from work, which generally is done for remuneration; work is generally carried out for advancement, and in the case of art, is more often an expressive expression of philosophical or aesthetic elements. The distinction between work and games is somewhat unclear. However, in most cases, games are played for leisure, for amusement, or for other non-rewarding purposes.
Games can be single player, multi-player, arcade style, object-oriented, simulation style, racing style, puzzle game, time management, card, board, word, numbers, mathematical, optical or auditory, or simulation games. A game is almost always designed with a set of rules, whereby players interact with a defined set of objects or other things to achieve a goal. Rules determine the outcome of the game. Most games, if not all, have an ultimate goal, which may be completing a level, solving a puzzle, unlocking a secret, or beating the competition. The ultimate goal is frequently not reached during the actual game, but rather, when the player makes a successful completion of his or her overall objective. Most games are competitive games; in this category, there are several types of games.
A competitive game involves two or more players. Generally, in competitive games, the object is to achieve a goal before the other players do, and thus, there is often a final competition. Some games may also have a point system, where players earn money or other rewards for their performance. Online games are popular because many people can play at the same time.
