Beauty – An Ideal That Evolves Within Us

Beauty is defined as a mental state characterized by mental states that inspire, delight or amaze. More specifically, beauty is frequently defined as a subjective aspect of objects which makes these objects pleasant to see. Such objects may be nature, humans, landscapes and works of art. Beauty, along with beauty and art, is possibly the most significant part of aesthetics, among the various branches of humanities, one of the most important branches of Philosophy.

The major theories of beauty deal with the psychological basis of our appreciation of beauty, how our ideas about beauty are formed, and the factors that affect our aesthetic experience. According to many philosophers, beauty has to do with the harmony of the parts of a structure, and the reflective nature of the human visual system. In addition, theories concerning beauty attempt to describe the psychological meaning of beauty, especially its relation to culture and our understanding of the norms of beauty through time.

According to the thesis that natural selection ensures the symmetries of the reproductive system, symmetries are favored in the evolutionary history of animals over those that are not symmetrical. Additionally, the aesthetic value of symmetries has been studied through the theories of aesthetic psychology. According to these theories, beauty arises from the conscious or unconscious use of visual features that generate auras around the stimulus, in the same way that visual color, shape, and motion produce certain colors and shapes. Beauty arises because of the brain’s representation of the world as seen through the five senses.
